Sport Of Fencing Membership

Students join the club after completing foundation classes. Where classes gave you new techniques and helped refine skills, club fencing gives you the context for what you have learned.

Club nights are also an excellent opportunity to meet other fencers and exchange ideas and tactics while getting a great workout.

Club memberships run from September (or time of joining) through August of each year. Membership dues may be paid either monthly through direct debit or yearly in one installment.

Adult memberships are $60 per month and youth/student memberships are $45 per month. Family memberships are also available for an additional $15 per month per family member. Membership in the United States Fencing Association (USFA) is required for all Club members and costs $50 per season.

Club members pay only $80 per session for any hour-long Academy classes.


Club members receive a $5 discount on private lessons.

Every Friday night from 7-9 pm the RIFAC armorer is on hand to help Club members on a first-come, first-served basis. The help is free, but Club members must pay for any parts needed.

Tournament Tuesday is an informal competition held every Tuesday night at 7:30 and is open and free to all Club members.

The Adult Bouting Class (for ages 17 and up) or the Junior Bouting Class (for ages 16 and under) are held on Thursday night Club Nights and are FREE for all Club members whenever they are offered (a $150 value).

Our 'Conversation of the Blade' Club newsletter, published quarterly, is mailed (and made available online) to all members. Information on upcoming tournaments, informative articles, training tips and other Club information are included in the newsletter.

Tournament information and advice are provided to all Club members who are interested in competing. Schedules for RIFAC, local, regional and national events are posted at the Club. Help is available when filling out forms or determining the best competitive schedule.

Club members may check out equipment for use during tournaments. A small deposit is required and is returned when equipment is returned.
