The Fencing Club is open on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings from 7-9:30 pm.
The Club opens at 6:30 pm to allow time for warm-up. All members are welcome to fence any night the Club is open. Each club night features a different event.
TuesdaysEvery Tuesday, RIFAC hosts "Tournament Tuesday." Tournament Tuesday is free with your Club membership and begins at 7:30 pm.
This weekly event is open to any Club member in any weapon. On Tournament Tuesday, a pool format tournament is held made up of all the fencers who have come to participate in each weapon.
Final placements are recorded, and awards are given out quarterly to the Club Member with the best record. Tournament Tuesday is a lot of fun and a great chance to get some competitive fencing practice against some of the area's best in an easy-going environment.
ThursdaysOn Thursday nights at RIFAC both Junior Bouting (for ages 13-16) and Adult Bouting (for ages 17 and up) are held. These classes are an hour and a half long and are an opportunity to meet and fence with other RIFAC members in your age group.
Both classes feature lots of electric fencing with feedback from the coach, and both of these specialty classes are free to Club Members (a $135 value). You can register for both classes online.
FridaysFriday nights at RIFAC feature open fencing all night. Come in for a night of fencing that can be as challenging or fun as the opponent you choose. Also on Friday nights, RIFAC's armorer is on hand to help Club members on a first-come, first-served basis. The help is free, but Club members must pay for any parts needed.
