RIFAC has been successfully operating since 1994 and currently instructs over 300 students per semester, with an additional 150 active club members and competitors.
All RIFAC coaches are Certified Instructors from the United States Fencing Association (USFA), or the United States Fencing Coaches Association (USFCA). RIFAC'S professional, full-time coaches are nationally rated by the Fencing Officials Commission (FOC).
RIFAC features Certified Coaches from the American Sports Education Program (ASEP) and the ARC/USOC (U.S. Olympic Committee) Sport Safety Program. We have a licensed and registered Occupational Therapist on staff, and all our coaches are certified in Adult and Child CPR.
RIFAC offers classes in all three weapons: foil, sabre and épée.
Our main 8,000-square-foot studio is an air-conditioned, professional, full-time fencing facility featuring the latest equipment, including 12 electric strips.
We train students at all levels, from beginners to World Cup (international) level. RIFAC's competitive students include scores of local, sectional, regional and national medallists, including several national gold medallists and many of the New England Division's champions.
We participate in setting rules and standards for the sport, through leadership in the New England Division of the USFA and the USFA nationally.
RIFAC and RIFAC fencers have been featured widely in the media, including local newspapers, national magazines and television.
RIFAC is certified by the Attorney General of Rhode Island as a health and fitness club. RIFAC is registered as a corporation in Rhode Island. We are fully bonded and insured.
Classes are held at all of our locations, and scheduled at convenient times. Enrollment and registration are ongoing throughout the year.
